About Our Clinic
Choosing a hearing professional is one of the most important decisions a hearing impaired person can make. Since hearing aids cannot be prescribed like eye glasses, proper hearing aid recommendation and fitting is highly dependent on the judgment and skill of the professional selecting and programming the instrument. We test your hearing, select and dispense the hearing instrument best to meet your needs, in addition to, providing support, counseling and service of the hearing system. We are concerned about the person and make hearing solution recommendations to fit your lifestyle and personal needs.
Larry House (founder of House of Hearing Audiology Clinic) has been serving Treasure Valley with hearing testing, amplification and assistive listening devices for over 40 years. He was introduced to the hearing aid industry by his father-in-law. Larry's daughter, Mali House-Murphy and her husband Matt Murphy are the third generation in this family run business and moving the practice into the realm of Audiology. Both are clinical audiologists and are currently working with many of the Treasure Valley's physicians to identify and treat the adult hearing impaired population.

| Matthew S. Murphy, MS, CCC-A, F-AAA, Clinical Audiologist
I began my career by training and working under Larry House. He has taught me the valuable lessons of hearing aid fitting by focusing on the patient first and the hearing aid second. While working under Larry I passed the Idaho State License exam. Then a year later my wife and I attended Idaho State University Audiology program where I graduated with a masters degree. I spent 8 weeks of my training focused on the assessment and treatment of the balance system. I love to snow board, raft, and spend time with my wife and 2 children.

I have been around the hearing aid industry my entire life and have enjoyed seeing the rewards my father has felt when he helps someone improve their life with hearing aids. I attended Idaho State University with my husband, where I received a master's degree in audiology. I spent some of my training at the Boise Veterans Hospital where I performed numerous hearing evaluations and hearing aid fittings. I enjoy skiing, rafting, reading and spending time with my family.

I received both my bachelors and masters degrees at Idaho State University. I completed my training at the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City. I was in school with Matt and Mali and finished my clinical fellowship year at House of Hearing Audiology Clinic and am currently employed full time there. Audiology has been an interest of mine because I have hearing impaired people in my family and I know how important it is to communicate with loved ones. I grew up in Southern Idaho and would not live anywhere else because I love outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, and camping.

Lawrence J. House, BC-HIS Board Certified (Founder)
I started dispensing hearing aids in Oregon in 1964. In 1979 I was part of the committee that established the Idaho hearing aid licensing law and board, of which I was President from 1978 to 1984. While beginning my own practice I purchased 5 local practices in the 1970's. I was president of the Idaho Hearing Aid Society from 1975 to 1979 and I am currently a member of the International Hearing Society and hold a Board Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences. I am also a digital hearing aid wearer and would not be caught with out my hearing aids. I love to golf in my spare time.

I was fortunate to meet Matt and Mali a few years ago when I was just re-entering the work force after spending several years home with my two young boys. What began as an office management position quickly expanded as I felt myself being drawn to helping our clients. After months of studying and learning the business from Matt and Russell, I took my state exams and became a licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist. I love helping our clients improve their communication and understanding with their loved ones and make it my personal goal that their experience is as rewarding as mine. My time away from work is spent keeping up with the ever-expanding sports activities of my family. I also love to garden, read, golf, and spend time with those I love.

I was born in Boise Idaho and have been part of the local work force since 1959 after attending Northwest Nazarene College. For several years I was employed as a legal secretary and legal assistant. I enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of our office and working closely with our wonderful clientele. It is so rewarding to work with employers whose goals are to enrich the lives of others, and do it with the utmost integrity and no pressure.
